You can elect to attend traffic school once in a 12 month period, 5 times in a lifetime.

If you were traveling 30 + over the speed limit you cannot elect traffic school you must appear in court.
Here’s the scoop:
You have 30 days before your ticket is due. When you pay your ticket make sure to sign the affidavit. (The affidavit is what tells them that you are electing traffic school) Pay the amount which reflects that you are taking traffic school.
The officer should have given you an affidavit. If not, contact the clerk of court in the county where you got your ticket to obtain one. OR you can pay it in person and sign the affidavit at that time.
From the date that you sign the affidavit you have 60 or 90 days to complete traffic school and have the certificate turned in. Each county is different!
In Hernando County you have 90 days from the time you sign the affidavit to turn the certificate in.
In Pasco County you have 60 days from the time you sign the affidavit to turn the certificate in.
**It is possible to take the course prior to paying the ticket as long as you are within your first 30 days. You do not want to make the ticket late!!!
If you take our course in classroom, you will walk away with your certificate.
